Two standard types of extensometers are available.
1. TYPE HE25/50 EXTENSOMETER
This is a single measuring head type suitable for attachment to specimens whilst carrying out tensile or compression tests; they comprise a moving section which houses a differential induction transducer (LVDT).
2. TYPE DHE25/50 EXTENSOMETER
This is a dual measuring head type suitable for attachment to specimens whilst carrying out tensile or compression tests and comprises a pair of moving sections; each houses a differential induction transducer (LVDT).
An adjustable, self-aligning, spring loaded clamping mechanism enables single-handed fitting to round and flat specimens having cross-sections not exceeding 50mm. (Other sizes to special order.)
Interchangeable knife edge brackets are supplied to provide 25 & 50mm gauge lengths. (Optional brackets are available for other gauge lengths.)
A locking mechanism ensures the gauge length is accurately maintained during attachment to specimen.
Circular knife edges are fitted to each bracketand can easily be replaced should they become worn or damaged.
The Extensometers should be removed from the sample prior to failure.
